Guide to travelling in Zimbabwe

Its varied topography and landscapes make the country an ideal destination for travellers in search of adventure and excitement. Your trip to Zimbabwe will probably start with Harare, the multifaceted capital. This sprawling city of 1.6 million wavers between modernity and tradition, depending on the neighborhood. But it's away from the buzz of the capital that you'll discover the real Zimbabwe - a country with perfectly preserved natural treasures, friendly people and a fascinating cultural heritage. After whetting your apetite with a mini-safari in Matapos, you can then move on to the protected Hwange National Park. This huge game reserve is toured by 4-wheel drive and is the king of safaris: black rhinos, leopards, wild dogs and over a hundred other mammal species gather here in search of food. For a complete change of scenery, you can continue on to the Victoria Falls, a must during any tour of Zimbabwe . Be warned - it's noisy! More than 500,000m3 of water crash down a rock wall that's 1.7km wide and 100m high; a spectacular sight that defies reality.
