With coasts overlooking the China Sea, the Gulf of Thailand and many small islands with preserved marine life, Vietnam is a dream destination for snorkeling and diving.
If you are a beginner or traveling with children, snorkeling on the island of Phu Quoc in the Gulf of Thailand is an ideal choice. The water is calm and shallow, so a mask and snorkel are all you need to observe the colorful coral and fish. You might even see some clownfish among the sea anemones.
To see even more marine species, we recommend diving in the Cham Islands, located off Hôi An. Near the caves and underwater tunnels, you can catch sight of parrotfish and scorpionfish. You can also try drift diving in areas where the sea currents are strongest.
Experienced divers: the Con Dao National Park Reserve is for you. You can see the most impressive underwater species, such as dugongs and whale sharks, as well as sea turtles on their spawning grounds.
