The best time to go to Namibia is during the dry season, between April and November: it's warm and sunny throughout the country. Those readers with allergies would be better off, however, putting off their trip until the first few weeks of November or the month of April: there may be showers here and there, but they won't stop you enjoying the trip and you'll run into fewer tourists. Do make sure, however, to avoid the rainy season.

I cried both tears of joy and tears of sadness on the trip. My tears of joy came from seeing such a delicate and spectacular landscape - the lichens, plants and animals dependent on the fog, the fact that the ocean creates the sand of the desert, the immense size of the sand dunes. My tears of sadness was the drought which they are experiencing and the animals which have been lost because of the drought. They need more people to visit and spend the money visiting the animal preserves so that money can turn around and be used to save their ecosystem.

I had wanted to travel to Southern Africa for many years, and Namibia was one of the top draws for me to that part of the world. I found everywhere along my route fascinating and enjoyed the emptiness and solitude. Favorite moments/stops in particular were Sossusvlei, Etosha National Park, Luderitz/Kolmanskop, meeting the San people, and the excursions I was able to do from Swakopmund. The entire trip provided me with tons of photos and great memories that will endure forever.

Since this was our first visit to Africa, our visit was a general road trip to the top sights in the northern part of Namibia.
