You will stroll over the dunes of Arniston, will be amazed by the ostrich farms on the mountainous tracks of little Karoo and will end your excursion in the crystal clear waters of the rapids of the Tsitsikamma national park. The country also has a reputation for the quality of its wine. A walk in the bucolic region of Boland will enable you to sample the country's best wines directly at the producers. Finally, what would a trip to South Africa be without a safari to the heart of the most beautiful of wild animal reserves? <p><span class="s1"><strong>I really enjoyed walking near Umhlanga Rocks,</strong> in the natural reserve of the lagoon, surrounded by vegetation and dunes, at sundown. In the area, you can also go on walks in the sugarcane fields.</span></p>
<p><span class="s1">Apart from these more natural aspects, I didn't enjoy <strong>Umhlanga Rocks</strong> all that much; in my opinion, it's not worth the detour. It's an ultra-secure residential area that's very Californian, with its well-kept walks, its <em>mall</em> everyone is so proud of that's actually just a luxury shopping centre, its casinos, its expensive beach villas... There is, though, some good surfing here.</span></p>
<p><span class="s1">But to be honest, that's not my thing. I much preferred staying in <a href="/south-africa/">Durban</a> and discovering the "Zulu Little Bombay" at close quarters! It's more cosmopolitan and, culturally speaking, more interesting.</span></p>
